Despite winning their match at SummerSlam, Drew McIntyre still has unfinished business left with CM Punk. His reasoning is unassailable, as Punk cost him the World Heavyweight Championship not once but on four occasions. CM Punk, on the other hand, also has his reasons, as McIntyre injured him at the Royal Rumble and kept running his mouth and made personal remarks about him during his absence.
Last Monday’s episode of Raw featured another altercation between Punk and McIntyre, which saw the former flog McIntyre with a leather belt. McIntyre posted a picture on X showing the bruises of the attack, which has led to speculations that WWE could be planning to use a similar stipulation for a potential match between the two at the upcoming Bash in Berlin PLE.
Ibou of WrestlePurists reported that the current plan for Bash in Berlin is to have CM Punk take on Drew McIntyre in a strap match. If that is the case, the segment on Raw could be the best build-up towards making the match official next week.
Is CM Punk & Drew McIntyre Heading Towards A Hell In A Cell Match?
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have all the reasons to take each other to hell in a strap match at Bash in Berlin. But the ongoing speculation is that WWE is indeed looking toward placing the superstars in hell to culminate their feud.
Punk laughed at a reporter during the Clash at the Castle press conference when the latter suggested Punk and McIntyre’s first match should be inside the dangerous “Hell in a Cell” structure. However, it appears the two superstars will end things once and for all inside the Devil’s Playground, possibly at the Bad Blood PLE on October 5 in Atlanta, Georgia.
A Hell in a Cell match is the perfect stipulation to culminate a rivalry like CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. In a perfect world, WWE would look to have McIntyre win the Strap Match at Bash in Berlin and have Punk finish the story by defeating McIntyre inside the steel structure at Bad Blood.
