The Season Premiere of SmackDown on the USA Network emanated live from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. WWE put on an entertaining show and, in the process, announced two matches for the upcoming WWE Bad Blood PLE.
Along with the three matches announced on the last episode of Raw, this is the WWE Bad Blood match card:
Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley – Women’s World Championship
Finn Balor vs. Damian Priest – Singles Match
CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre – Hell in a Cell Match
Nia Jax (c) vs. Bayley or Naomi – WWE Women’s Championship
Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu – Tag Team Match
Nia Jax Will Defend The WWE Women’s Championship At WWE Bad Blood
WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax announced she would put her title on the line at WWE Bad Blood. While she didn’t know who she would defend the title against at the event, former champion Bayley confronted Jax and demanded a rematch for the championship.
However, former 2-time SmackDown women’s champion Naomi interrupted them to reveal her intentions of coming after Nia Jax’s title. The latter then suggested Naomi and Bayley team up to take on her and Tiffany Stratton in a tag team match on next week’s SmackDown.
Nia Jax then announced the stipulation that whoever among Bayley and Naomi picks up the win next week would become the No.1 contender for her title. However, she also revealed that if she and Stratton win the match, the one who got pinned has to leave SmackDown for good.
Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes Forms An Unlikely Partnership To Battle The New Bloodline!
After Cody Rhodes picked up a clean victory over Solo Sikoa in their WWE Championship steel cage match, The New Bloodline looked to take out the champion before Roman Reigns returned.
After the segment, SmackDown GM Nick Aldis revealed that Solo Sikoa has proposed a tag team match for WWE Bad Blood, with him and Jacob Fatu taking on Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
While Rhodes and Reigns were skeptical about teaming up at first, the former rivals put their differences aside to become temporary allies after they fended off The Bloodline in the main event and signed the contract to make the match official.
Despite Reigns signing the contract first, he didn’t look too happy with the idea of teaming up with Rhodes when the latter signed the contract. The upcoming episodes of SmackDown will show the interesting dynamic between Reigns and Rhodes and focus on how they’d co-exist to take out a common enemy in the New Bloodline.
