Rumors of Matt Hardy leaving AEW started when fans spotted him during a recent episode of Monday Night Raw. It appears the rumors turned out to be correct, as his contract with AEW has expired today.

Fightful Select confirmed the reports and further stated that AEW has been in talks with Hardy for him to remain with the company, but the latter has decided not to renew his contract.

Hardy signed with All Elite Wrestling in March 2020 and had a decent start in the company but got lost in the shuffle as the days passed.

Rumors of him making a potential appearance at WrestleMania 40 surfaced online after he got spotted on Raw, but that didn’t come to fruition. It appears a WWE return might be in Matt Hardy’s future, as his recent Raw appearance could hint toward him signing with the company in the coming days.
