While talking on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, 14-time WWE Champion Randy Orton made a bold claim that he doesn’t see anyone beating his record for being the youngest world champion in WWE history.
Randy Orton made his televised debut for WWE at the age of 22 and quickly proved his worth to the top management. He became part of Triple H’s evolution stable, which paved the way for him to win the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004.
He was 24 years old at the time and made history by becoming the youngest world champion in WWE history by beating Brock Lesnar’s record, who had won the WWE title at 25.
Randy Orton’s record has been intact for over two decades, and The Legend Killer claims that he doesn’t see anyone surpassing that in the future.
Orton revealed that his win came under special circumstances and claims that there isn’t anyone young enough to replicate that feat. Backing up his claim, Randy Orton found himself at the right place at the right time when he became part of the Evolution faction. Triple H took him under his wing and helped him get an early start on the main event picture.
However, the record might not stay intact forever as there might be someone destined to replace Orton on the throne.
Randy Orton has been an active in-ring performer for WWE for over two decades and has claimed that he intends to wrestle until he’s 50 years old, which is six years from now.
He’s a 14-time world champion and still has the opportunity to surpass Ric Flair and John Cena’s 16 world title record. With his former protege Cody Rhodes as the reigning Undisputed WWE Univeral Champion, chances of The Legend Killer squaring off against Rhodes for the title are higher than ever.
We only have a few years left of Randy Orton’s legendary in-ring career, and let’s hope he makes the most of it and makes more memorable moments before taking his place in the Hall of Fame.
