When it comes to professional wrestling, the entertainment aspect is equally vital, along with the in-ring competition. Only a few wrestlers have managed to master the entertainment factor, and current WWE superstar and former NWA World Heavyweight Champion R-Truth is one of them.

Coming from a humble background, R-Truth worked hard to establish himself in pro wrestling and has been an active in-ring competitor for over 27 years.

He first made his WWE debut in 2000 and became a 2-time Hardcore Champion before signing with TNA in 2002, where he became a 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

He returned to WWE in 2008 and has been with the company ever since. Throughout his WWE career, R-Truth has won the United States and Tag Team Championships on multiple occasions. But the achievement he’s known among modern-day wrestling fans is his 54 24/7 Championship victories.

He’s also known for his comedic antics and hilarious segments, which became the focal point of his WWE career. However, during a recent TikTok live session, R-Truth confessed that his current career trajectory is not what he envisioned for himself.

While answering a fan’s question, R-Truth claimed,

“I guess… I’m mad at myself… when I think about where I am and where I wanted to be in my career”

Looking back at his statement, R-Truth, being a former 2-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, was unable to replicate the same level of success in WWE.

Apart from a brief run as a heel in 2011, which earned him a WWE Championship opportunity, WWE considered R-Truth only as a mid-card talent used only for hilarious segments. But he made the most of the opportunities, shined in the spot given to him, and earned the admiration of millions.

He might be in the final stage of his in-ring career, but the Universe does have a unique way of fulfilling one’s desires, and R-Truth could get the opportunity to sign off his career in the way he intends to.
