The 2024 SummerSlam PLE turned out to be a memorable event for the fans as WWE crafted together the perfect matches and storylines with the right blend of twists & turns and surprises. After four title changes and two betrayals came the monumental moment that saw Roman Reigns make his highly-anticipated return.
Roman Reigns came out with the sole intention of letting everyone, especially Solo Sikoa and his cohorts, know he is The Original Tribal Chief. He took out Solo Sikoa and enabled Cody Rhodes to pick up the win and retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. The magic word here is “enabled,” as Reigns’ intention was to show Solo Sikoa his place, and Rhodes retaining the title was simply a byproduct.
Following the event, Cody Rhodes mentioned in the Press Conference that a third match between him and Roman Reigns must happen somewhere down the line. While that would be on Reigns’ checklist, his top priority would be to deal with Solo Sikoa, who took over The Bloodline as the self-proclaimed Tribal Chief during Reigns’ absence.
Roman Reigns will appear on the upcoming episode of SmackDown, emanating live from the Bok Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wrestling fans can expect the next chapter in the Bloodline storyline to unfold during Reigns’ homecoming to SmackDown. With that in mind, let’s explore the possibilities and potential outcomes of The Original Tribal Chief’s return.
Reigns Might Look To Confront Solo Sikoa Face To Face
Roman Reigns’ current version is everything Vince McMahon wanted to achieve with him as a babyface. While The Big Dog gimmick turned out to be a complete disaster, The Tribal Chief character showed organic growth, and Reigns has succeeded in establishing himself as a babyface anti-hero following his SummerSlam return.
Wrestling fans will wait to witness how a babyface Roman Reigns will take care of his business. However, to take a wild guess, Reigns might call out Solo Sikoa and confront him face-to-face on SmackDown.
What Role Will Jacob Fatu Play In The Potential Civil War?
After taking over as the new leader of The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa kicked his brother Jimmy Uso out of the group and brought in Tama Tonga as a new member. He followed it up by bringing in Tanga Loa and then brought in Jacob Fatu as his enforcer.
The new members took the Wiseman Paul Heyman out for refusing to acknowledge Solo Sikoa as the Tribal Chief. Jacob Fatu might look like he has no problems being Solo Sikoa’s enforcer, but his expressions and demeanor in the past few weeks before SummerSlam told a different story.
It appeared Jacob Fatu sustained an injury when he performed a splash on Cody Rhodes through the announce table. However, Fightful Select reported that the injury was a work. WWE might’ve pulled off the stunt to prevent Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu from interacting at SummerSlam.
There is an ongoing fan theory that Fatu could be a double agent working for Roman Reigns within Solo Sikoa’s group, and the fans will get their answers in the coming weeks.
Does Zilla Fatu Being In The Crowd At SummerSlam Mean Anything? What About Hikuleo?
With The Bloodline storyline going into a potential Civil War angle, new members from the Samoan Dynasty could make their WWE debuts, and the fans can also expect to see some old names return.
One interesting detail that came to light during SummerSlam was that Zilla Fatu, the son of the late Umaga, was present among the crowd watching the action unfold in the ring.
WWE recently signed Hikuleo, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa’s brother, to a contract, and Zilla Fatu being at SummerSlam might suggest that the two wrestlers might show up to SmackDown this week.
Will Paul Heyman & Jimmy Uso Return?
Apart from Roman Reigns’ appearance, wrestling fans are also anticipating the returns of Paul Heyman and Jimmy Uso on SmackDown.
While Jimmy Uso got taken out early, Paul Heyman had to endure lots of emotional stress witnessing Solo Sikoa’s efforts to overthrow Roman Reigns.
Wrestling fans are expecting to see an emotional reunion between Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns this Friday on SmackDown. However, Paul Heyman has done it many times in the past, and he could do it again if he chooses to betray Roman Reigns and side with Solo Sikoa.
WWE Is Already Laying The Groundwork For Jey Uso & Sami Zayn’s Return To SmackDown
On the Raw after SummerSlam, Sami Zayn and Jey Uso were part of a backstage segment that saw the latter trying to cheer up Zayn over losing the Intercontinental Championship.
Zayn revealed that he’ll get his rematch against Bron Breakker on next week’s Raw. However, Jey Uso proposed that after Zayn wins back the IC title, they team up to take the tag team championships from the Judgment Day.
It might be the first step towards pairing up Zayn and Uso and prepping them for a potential reunion with Roman Reigns.
