As first reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fighful, AEW has released multiple personnel from their roster today.
A total of ten members got released from their contracts, and the list includes Stu Grayson, Parker Boudreaux, Slim J, Gravity, Anthony Henry, Jora Johl, Jose The Assistant, The Boys (Brandon & Brent), and ring announcer Dasha Gonzalez.
All Elite Wrestling has been breaking the bank to sign talents like Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and Mercedes Mone to big contracts, and it appears these releases might be a cost-cutting measure.
Wrestling fans have hailed AEW for being a worthy alternative to WWE and commended the company for signing many talents from the independent circuit. However, AEW is a for-profit corporation similar to WWE and has to take measures to ensure the smooth flow of business, no matter how hard it might be.
As for the released wrestlers, there’s always room for talent in the pro wrestling business and they will find their places in other promotions.
