As reported by Fightful Select last year, Dustin Rhodes’ AEW Contract expires in September 2024. They also confirmed in their recent report that nothing has changed and that Rhodes hasn’t signed an extension with AEW.

Dustin Rhodes signed with AEW in 2019 and started working in their sister promotion, Ring of Honor, from July 2024. He is one-half of the ROH World Tag Team Champions with Sammy Guevara and one-third of the ROH Six Man Tag Team Champions with the Von Erichs.

While fans speculate his current title run is a part of Tony Khan’s attempts to keep him in the company, Dustin Rhodes’ AEW contract situation is still up in the air.

Is Dustin Rhodes Contemplating A WWE Return?

According to Fightful, along with his contributions as an in-ring performer for AEW & ROH, Dustin Rhodes also helps backstage with the women’s division.

He is 55 years old and might look toward having a limited schedule in the ring and increasing his contributions backstage.

However, considering his half-brother Cody Rhodes’ current successful run as the Undisputed WWE Champion and with Triple H rising in the ranks, he might consider a jump to WWE.

With Vince McMahon out of the picture, Dustin Rhodes need not worry about being Goldust and can finish his in-ring career on his terms in WWE. However, it’s all speculation until there’s a new update on Dustin Rhodes’ AEW contract situation.

Dustin Rhodes is a former 3-time Intercontinental Champion, 3-time Tag Team Champion, and 7-time Hardcore Champion in WWE. He might not go back to winning titles in WWE, but he could have one last run with his brother Cody Rhodes and land a significant backstage role in WWE under the new regime.

If he decides to stay, Rhodes can also continue to do what he’s doing in AEW and help the company groom their wrestlers. Wrestling fans could get their answers by this month end.
