After witnessing what was arguably the biggest WrestleMania of all time, WWE fans have their sights set on the upcoming premium live events. WWE has a packed schedule with Backlash France, King & Queen of the Ring, and Clash at the Castle before hosting the highly-anticipated Money in the Bank PLE in July 2024.
This year’s event will emanate live from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, and will feature the two titular ladder matches that would determine the next potential world champions in WWE.
With the new era of WWE already showing lots of promise, it will be interesting to see who will be the first Mr. & Miss. Money in the Bank of the Paul “Triple H” Levesque Era. With that said, let’s take a look at ten superstars with high chances of winning this year’s men’s MITB ladder match.
#10 Finn Balor As Mr. MITB With Damian Priest As World Heavyweight Champion Is An Interesting Possibility
The Judgment Day has been one of the most dominant factions in WWE for the past two years. The members held numerous championships throughout their time together, and despite Rhea Ripley having to relinquish her Women’s World Championship due to injury, Damian Priest is still the reigning World Heavyweight Champion.
Priest won the title by cashing in his MITB contract on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40, and WWE has an opportunity to have another Mr. MITB in the group if they choose to have Finn Balor win this year’s ladder match.
The group already showed signs of breaking up when Damian Priest didn’t look too happy with the rest of the members beating down his Backlash opponent, Jey Uso. If Priest turns babyface in the coming weeks, it will create an opportunity for WWE to book a rivalry between him and Finn Balor, and Balor as Mr. MITB will add more value to the feud.
#9 It’s Been A Long Time Since Kevin Owens Held A World Championship In WWE
The last time Kevin Owens held a world championship in WWE was in 2016 when he had a 188-day run as the Universal Champion.
He’s one of the most entertaining superstars on the current WWE roster, but WWE has only considered him a challenger for the world championships rather than giving him an actual run with the titles.
With WWE finally having two full-time world champions on the roster, it allows the company to elevate hard-working stars like Kevin Owens to the main event picture. If Triple H is smart, he’d consider Owens as a possible candidate to win the 2024 men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
#8 Logan Paul Would Make A Great Heel Mr. MITB
Despite competing in only 12 matches to this date, current WWE United States Champion Logan Paul has earned the respect of the fans and wrestling legends alike.
He looks and moves like a natural in the ring, with many hailing him as a person born to become a pro wrestler. He’s worked with superstars like Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns within his short span in the company and has the potential to do even more if given the opportunity.
He could win the 2024 men’s MITB ladder match and go on to become a highly entertaining heel champion in the future.
#7 Bron Breakker Could Be The Next Big Thing On The WWE Main Roster
Only a few wrestlers in the industry have showcased a combination of strength and agility in their in-ring styles, and Bron Breakker is one of them.
He looks like a beast and showcases immense strength but moves like someone half his size. He literally moved the ring while running between the ropes during a recent event, which shows the level of intensity he could bring to the main event picture if WWE chooses him to win the 2024 men’s MITB ladder match.
WWE pushed him heavily throughout his time in NXT and even placed him in the same ring with The Undertaker. It shows the level of confidence WWE has in Bron Breakker, and it will be fun to see him as Mr. MITB this year.
#6 Main Event Jey Uso Is Ready For A World Title Run
The Bloodline storyline elevated every member of the faction to the next level, and it helped Jey Uso go from being one of the Uso Twins to a legitimate main event singles performer.
Jey Uso’s the No.1 contender to Damian Priest’s World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash France, but Uso winning the title is a long shot as it’s evident that WWE is looking to put the title back on Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle.
However, WWE should explore the possibility of Jey Uso as a world champion in the future, and having him win the MITB ladder match could be the best way to start.
#5 LA Knight Needs To Win A World Championship To Retain His Momentum
After surviving the horrendous Max Dupri gimmick, LA Knight went through a sudden rise in popularity last year. The fans voiced their desire for Knight to get a significant push in WWE, and the company heard their pleas.
Despite being in his 40s, LA Knight shows no signs of slowing down and brings his best whenever he steps inside the ring. He has the entire fanbase in the palm of his hands and has all it takes to be a high-profile babyface world champion.
He came very close to winning the Money in the Bank ladder match in 2023, and he should be a top contender to hold the briefcase this year.
#4 A Heel Randy Orton Could Be A Big Threat To Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes overcame the odds to defeat Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40 and finish his story. With either AJ Styles or LA Knight being the next possible challengers to his title, the possibility of Rhodes facing his old mentor, Randy Orton, sounds very fun.
Randy Orton is known for being a vicious heel who’d go to any extent to hurt his opponents, and that’s the kind of competition Cody Rhodes needs in his title reign.
Orton, as a heel MITB holder, would be a perfect fit in the current WWE era, and it could even open up the possibility of him winning his 15th world title in WWE.
#3 Solo Sikoa Can Lead A New Bloodline As WWE Champion
The Bloodline storyline took an interesting turn on the April 12, 2024, episode of SmackDown, when Solo Sikoa kicked out his brother Jimmy Uso from the group by bringing in a debuting Tama Tonga.
During a backstage segment, Tama Tonga explained his actions to Paul Heyman as orders from the Tribal Chief. But Solo Sikoa preventing Heyman from calling Reigns on the phone might hint towards a potential Bloodline Civil War, with Sikoa taking charge of the second group.
With the rumors of Jacob Fatu and Lance Anoa’i signing with WWE, it appears WWE is indeed heading towards a Civil War storyline, and Solo Sikoa winning the 2024 men’s Money in the Bank ladder match and cashing it in to become WWE Champion sounds like a decent possibility.
#2 Gunther’s Next Conquest Should Be The WWE Championship
For 666 days, Gunther made the Intercontinental Championship look like a top prize in WWE at par with the two world championships. The reign came to an end at WrestleMania 40 when Gunther lost to Sami Zayn.
He is yet to return to television following his loss at WrestleMania, but WWE will look to push Gunther to the main event picture once he comes back.
He’s one of the company’s top heels and would be a suitable opponent to Cody Rhodes. WWE is reportedly planning for a showdown between The Rock and Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania 41. That feud already has the star power to be a potential main eventer and does not need the WWE title, which gives WWE the option to consider Gunther to win the 2024 men’s Money in the Bank ladder match and cash it in on Rhodes to win the WWE Championship.
#1 CM Punk Can Make History By Winning His Third Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Despite being injured, CM Punk managed to make his presence felt in three promotions following WrestleMania 40. Coupled with his feud with Drew McIntyre in WWE, AEW airing the Brawl Out footage on Dynamite, and Jack Perry taking shots at him at NJPW Windy City Riot made him the talk of the industry.
WWE should look to capitalize on this following Punk’s in-ring return, and judging by how he didn’t show much pain during his brief physical altercation with Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40, we could see Punk returning in time for Money in the Bank 2024.
Punk can make history by winning the MITB ladder match for the third time in his career. McIntyre could be the World Heavyweight Champion by the time of the MITB PLE, and Punk winning the ladder match would open up the possibility of McIntyre losing his title to yet another cash-in.
