The Undertaker was an exhilarating character that sent chills down the fans’ spines for three decades. Mark Calaway did more than justice to the gimmick throughout his iconic WWE career and did his best to maintain kayfabe at all times.
The Undertaker retired from in-ring competition at Survivor Series 2020 and took his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022. Following his induction, The Undertaker made it clear during an interview with Ariel Helwani last year that he’ll never don The Deadman attire again.
He lived up to his promise as he made his later WWE appearances in his American Badass character. However, he did go against his words when he appeared in the character during the Riyadh Season Cup final to unveil the trophy.
The Undertaker left an everlasting impact on the landscape of professional wrestling throughout his career, with many claiming that no one could’ve portrayed the gimmick better than Mark Calaway and that no one can use the gimmick again.

But current AEW star and WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett has other opinions, as he believes it’s almost a guarantee that someone else will reuse the Undertaker character in the future.
During a recent episode of his My World podcast, Jeff Jarrett claimed that it’s a delicate situation and that the timing would play a crucial role, considering how active Mark Calaway still is. But he stated that it’s still possible that someone else will use the gimmick in the future.
“Timing is everything, and creative is subjective -– and again, when I say timing, I’m not talking about the mechanics of a match, I’m talking about the whole essence of a storyline and the build-up. And, again, can you imagine the right set of circumstances?” said the AEW star. “Look, Mark’s doing one-man shows now. He’s very active, the podcasts and all that, so maybe today the time isn’t right? I don’t know. But do I think that it is a real possibility? I think it’s almost a guarantee. Hell yes.”
