Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes appeared on this week’s episode of NXT and had an in-ring segment with NXT Champion Trick Williams. During the interaction, Rhodes announced that there would be a 25-man battle royal on next week’s NXT to determine Williams’ challenger for NXT Heatwave.

However, he also stated that the contestants could be from other locker rooms, signifying that WWE could use its current working partnership with TNA to bring in more talent from the Impact Zone.

Amidst the speculation on which TNA stars would appear next week, former AEW star Matt Hardy has teased his participation in the battle royal.

Will Matt Hardy Be At NXT?

Former AEW star Matt Hardy teases NXT appearance.

Following his exit from AEW in April 2024, Hardy returned to TNA in his Broken Hardy persona and joined forces with Nic and Ryan Nemeth to feud with TNA World Champion Moose’s faction, The System.

The feud has led to Hardy getting a world title opportunity against Moose at Against All Odds this Friday and Nic and Ryan Nemeth getting a tag team title shot against Moose’s faction members Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards.

With the PPV just around the corner, Matt Hardy posted a tweet on X claiming that after he defeats Moose to become the new TNA World Champion, he might also show up on NXT and participate in the NXT title No.1 contenders battle royal.

WWE’s partnership with TNA has received positive reactions from pro wrestling fans, and TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace has made multiple appearances for WWE as part of the deal. With Joe Hendry being rumored to make a WWE appearance in the coming weeks, Matt Hardy could also be a welcome surprise for the fans.

Matt Hardy competed in NXT way back in 2010 when it was in its reality television phase, and if he makes an appearance next week, he’ll return to the brand after 14 years.
