Wrestling fans all over the globe will have their eyes and undivided attention fixed on the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as WWE is getting to host WrestleMania 40 as a two-day extravaganza on April 6 & 7.

The road to the 40th edition of The Showcase of The Immortals started at Royal Rumble 2024, and WWE made sure they built up an impressive card for the show. From Cody Rhodes’ second consecutive Royal Rumble win to The Rock’s entry, this year’s event has all it takes to live up to the hype of being the biggest WrestleMania in history.

The show has a healthy mix of title and non-title matches, with four more matches rumored to get added to the card. The champions are ready to put their titles on the line, but when it’s all said and done, who will hold all the gold on the WWE main roster after WrestleMania 40?

Kevin Owens Could Walk Out As The New United States Champion

Kevin Owens has been butting heads with United States Champion Logan Paul for quite some time now, and while it looked like these two would battle for the title at WrestleMania 40, WWE added Randy Orton to the mix.

Logan Paul made an enemy out of The Viper after costing him the 2024 men’s Elimination Chamber match and a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis then made a triple-threat match between Orton, Owens, and Paul at WrestleMania 40.

While some might say Orton is the favorite to win the match, others could say Logan Paul might use his heel tactics to steal the win. However, in this mix, Kevin Owens is made to look like the underdog, and that’s the surprise factor WWE should capitalize on at WrestleMania 40 and crown KO as the new United States Champion.

Bayley Will Outsmart Her Old Allies To Capture The WWE Women’s Championship

Throughout her time leading the Damage CTRL faction, Bayley was the only member of the group not to hold a championship. While Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky held the Women’s Tag Team Championship, the latter also won the 2023 Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and cashed it in to win the WWE Women’s Championship.

Even Asuka and Kairi Sane, who later joined the group, captured the tag team titles. But things changed when Bayley won the 2024 women’s Royal Rumble match, which resulted in the rest of the group turning on The Role Model.

Bayley chose to face Iyo Sky for the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40, and judging by how the storyline has been going on, there’s no way that Bayley is not walking out as the new champion.

Sami Zayn Or Chad Gable Could Dethrone Gunther As The Intercontinental Champion

Yes, Sami Zayn became the No.1 contender to Gunther’s Intercontinental Championship by winning a Gauntlet Match that included Chad Gable. But looking at the way WWE booked things during the March 18, 2024, episode of Raw, it seems like Chad Gable might still be a part of the title picture.

Chad Gable told Sami Zayn straight to his face that he couldn’t beat Gunther at WrestleMania, and while WWE did their best to keep the entire focus on Zayn on Raw, we also have to look into the other minute details.

Gable wasn’t part of the qualifying match for the six-pack ladder match at WrestleMania 40 as his Alpha Academy partners Otis and Akira Tozawa represented the faction. Following their loss, they revealed that they were heading to NXT, which left Gable without a proper direction going into WrestleMania.

It could be a sign that WWE is planning to reinsert Gable into the title picture, and we might see a triple-threat match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40. With Gunther already accomplished everything there is to do with the title with his historic record-breaking reign, it’s fair enough he drops it to either Zayn or Gable at WrestleMania and moves on to the bigger picture.

The Kabuki Warriors Might Still Hold On To The Women’s Tag Team Championships

WWE Asuka and Kairi Sane

As mentioned earlier, rumors state that WWE might announce four more matches for WrestleMania 40, and one could be for the Women’s Tag Team Championship. Asuka and Kairi Sane are the reigning tag team champions and are part of Damage CTRL’s feud against Bayley. However, that might not clear them from defending their titles at The Grandest Stage Of Them All.

WWE is still to make an announcement regarding the women’s tag team titles for WrestleMania, but we can expect them to make it clear in the next two weeks.

However, with Iyo Sky already in danger of losing her title at WrestleMania, WWE should rethink the decision to take the tag titles away from The Kabuki Warriors. Damage CTRL’s feud against Bayley has the potential to continue beyond WrestleMania, and things would be more interesting if Asuka and Kairi Sane still held on to the titles.

DIY Could Become The New Undisputed Tag Team Champions Or WWE Could Pull Off A Twist Ending

WWE DIY

WWE announced a highly entertaining match for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship for WrestleMania 40 as Finn Balor and Damian Priest will defend their titles against five other teams in a six-pack ladder match.

WWE booked qualifying matches to determine the challengers, and the five teams that got the opportunity were DIY, The Awesome Truth, The New Day, New Catch Republic, and A-Town-Down Under.

Balor and Priest have held on to the titles since October 2023 and have had a decent run. Wrestling fans have been speculating about when WWE would split up the undisputed tag team titles, but the company announced a six-pack match for WrestleMania for the titles as a whole.

That’s where things could get interesting, as WWE might surprise us with one team grabbing the Raw tag team titles while another team retrieves the SmackDown titles at the same time. But if WWE decides to keep the titles together, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa have a good chance at winning the ladder match and walking out of WrestleMania as the new champions.

Rhea Ripley Might Still Be The Women’s World Champion After WrestleMania 40

Rhea Ripley has been an unstoppable force since winning the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble match. She defeated Charlotte Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 39. Since then, she has held the title for almost a year, and WWE rebranded the title into the Women’s World Championship.

She’s had a dominant run since winning the title but will face a formidable foe in Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40. Lynch earned the right to face Ripley for the title by winning the 2024 women’s Elimination Chamber match and has also proved herself by defeating Nia Jax in a Last Women Standing match.

However, Ripley has impressed everyone with her current heel run with The Judgment Day faction, and most of the fans don’t want to see her lose to Lynch at WrestleMania. If WWE listens to their fans, they should be smart enough to keep the Women’s World title around Ripley’s waist for a bit longer.

Drew McIntyre Will Finally Have His WrestleMania Moment

Drew McIntyre is on another level since turning heel in November 2023 and has become an inevitable character both on WWE and social media. The turn, along with CM Punk’s injury, resulted in WWE placing McIntyre in the World Heavyweight Championship picture, and The Scottish Warrior won the 2024 men’s Elimination Chamber to earn the right to challenge Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the title at WrestleMania 40.

However, the storyline took an interesting turn when Rollins got embroiled in the feud between Cody Rhodes and The Bloodline and will have to do double duty at WrestleMania 40 as along with his title defense against Drew McIntyre on Night 2, he will also have to compete in a tag team match teaming with Cody Rhodes to take on Roman Reigns and The Rock on Night 1.

With Rollins fully invested in the monumental tag team match, McIntyre could use that distraction to finally have his WrestleMania moment and dethrone Seth Rollins as the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Cody Rhodes Will Finally Finish His Story

Cody Rhodes’ road to finishing his story has been one of the focal points of WWE television for the past two years. He won the 2023 men’s Royal Rumble match and challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. However, he couldn’t finish the job as The Bloodline’s interruptions resulted in Reigns reigning supreme over Rhodes.

But Cody Rhodes persevered throughout 2023, won the men’s Royal Rumble for the second consecutive year in 2024, and earned another shot at Roman Reigns’ historic title reign.

However, The Rock’s addition to the storyline provided a twist to the storyline, and now Rhodes has the task of not only dealing with the usual threat in Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, but he also has to deal with The Rock, who has seemingly aligned himself with his cousins in The Bloodline.

Rhodes’ entire finishing-the-story angle has been going around for too long and would lose its entire momentum if he ends up losing to Roman Reigns again. Hence, WWE should do the right thing and book Rhodes to overcome the obstacles and finally have his defining moment by becoming the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
