The WWE Bash In Berlin PLE will emanate live from the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany, on Saturday, August 31, 2024. WWE has announced five matches for the event, including three title bouts.
If Triple H is going with the 5-match strategy he’s been following for most PLEs, aiming for more quality over quantity, the announced line-up could be the final match card for the event.
The current line-up includes:
- Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens – Singles Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
- Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley vs. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan – Mixed Tag Team Match
- Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn (c) vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill – Tag Team Match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
- CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre – Strap Match
- Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton – Singles Match for the World Heavyweight Championship
Apart from the PLE, WWE will also host the August 30, 2024, episode of SmackDown at the same venue in Berlin and has announced two title matches for the show.
LA Knight defending the United States Championship in an open challenge and Nia Jax defending the WWE Women’s Championship against Michin in a Street Fight on next week’s SmackDown proves that the current line-up could be the final one for Bash in Berlin. There are also no signs that The Bloodline could get a match at the event.
With that in mind, here are the predictions and analysis for WWE Bash in Berlin 2024.
#5 Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn (c) vs. Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
After losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn at Clash at the Castle 2024, the team of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill vowed to regain the titles.
They got their rematch on the August 2, 2024, episode of SmackDown but couldn’t win the titles as they won the match via disqualification.
While previewing this week’s episode of SmackDown, General Manager Nick Aldis announced that Cargill and Belair would challenge Fyre & Dawn for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WWE Bash in Berlin.
While Cargill & Belair got the upper hand against the champions by defeating them in a six-women tag team match on this week’s SmackDown, they might not replicate the same at the PLE.
With Jade Cargill showing signs of a heel turn in the past few weeks, the fans might see the powerhouse duo fail in their attempts at Bash in Berlin, which could lead to a potential heel turn for Cargill.
Prediction: Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn Will Retain Their Titles
#4 Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley vs. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan – Mixed Tag Team Match
Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest endured shocking betrayals from their former Judgment Day partners at SummerSlam 2024. While Dominik Mysterio sided with Liv Morgan to help the latter retain the Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor’s interference led to Damian Priest losing the World Heavyweight Championship to Gunther.
After SummerSlam, The Terror Twins vowed to get some retribution against the former partners and got the best of them for two weeks before suffering a beat down on the recent episode of Raw.
Ripley and Priest will get their chance at retribution at the WWE Bash in Berlin PLE when they take on Dominik Mysterio & Liv Morgan in a mixed tag team match.
However, with Finn Balor threatening to stab Damian Priest in the back every time the latter’s back is turned, and with the storyline having the potential to go on for another two PLEs, the heels might score the win at Berlin.
Prediction: Liv Morgan & Dominik Mysterio To Win
#3 Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens – Undisputed WWE Championship
Part of being a babyface champion is to defend the title against all comers and do the right thing at all costs, and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes combined both aspects by offering to put his title on the line against Kevin Owens at the WWE Bash in Berlin PLE.
Kevin Owens and Randy Orton helped Cody Rhodes with The Bloodline’s numbers game on multiple occasions in the past few months. While Randy Orton went on to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, Cody Rhodes used the opportunity to thank Kevin Owens by convincing the latter to challenge him for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
However, the main event on this week’s episode of SmackDown saw Kevin Owens showing signs of a heel turn by teasing to attack Rhodes with the WWE title belt. Rhodes himself looked a bit perplexed thinking if he had awakened the heel Prizefighter inside Owens.
With Roman Reigns entangled in his rivalry with The New Bloodline, WWE could use Kevin Owens as a potential heel rival for Rhodes’ title reign if the turn happens at Bash in Berlin.
Prediction: Cody Rhodes Defeats Kevin Owens To Retain The Title
#2 CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre – Strap Match
The next chapter in the heated rivalry between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre will unfold at the WWE Bash in Berlin PLE when the two superstars take on each other in a Strap Match.
The stipulation came to fruition after CM Punk left Drew McIntyre with bruises with a leather belt on the August 12, 2024, episode of Raw. Punk laid out the challenge on last week’s Raw, and WWE made the match official.
With his victory at SummerSlam, McIntyre has the edge over Punk in their rivalry, and the latter would look to make it even at Berlin. However, with the latest rumors suggesting a potential Hell in a Cell match between the two superstars to culminate the feud, McIntyre could win the strap match, with Punk getting the final laugh inside the Devil’s Playground at the Bad Blood PLE.
Prediction: Drew McIntyre Defeats CM Punk
#1 Gunther (c) vs. Randy Orton – World Heavyweight Championship
After Gunther defeated Damian Priest to win the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam, fans started speculating about the potential challengers for The Ring General’s title.
However, WWE surprised everyone by bringing Randy Orton from SmackDown to challenge Gunther for the title at the WWE Bash in Berlin event.
The company used the controversial finish to Orton & Gunther’s King of the Ring final match as the logic behind choosing The Legend Killer as Gunther’s first challenger.
If Randy Orton wins the championship, he will move to Raw while Gunther gets transferred to SmackDown. However, the chances of that happening are slim to none, considering Gunther has just won the title, and the company won’t look to take the title off The Ring General for at least six months.
Prediction: Gunther Defeats Randy Orton To Retain The Title
