Amidst the rumors of several AEW talents looking to jump to WWE, rumors have surfaced that missing AEW talent and former World Tag Team Champion Ricky Starks could be the next star to sign with WWE.

Ricky Starks debuted for All Elite Wrestling in 2020 and quickly gained a fan following with his excellent promo skills and in-ring ability. Wrestling fans compared Starks to The Rock after witnessing how he handled himself during promos.

He made a name for himself in AEW by becoming the FTW Champion and winning the World Tag Team Championship with Big Bill. However, he has been absent from AEW television since his last match on the March 30, 2024, episode of Collision.

While there are conflicting reports about Ricky Starks’ AEW contract situation, Fightful Select has confirmed the rumors that WWE has “significant interest” in signing Starks to NXT.

Ricky Starks Is Good Friends With WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes & Jade Cargill

Ricky Starks is good friends with the current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and was with him backstage at WrestleMania 38, Royal Rumble 2023, and WrestleMania 40.

Former AEW and current WWE superstar Jade Cargill has also stated that Starks is one of her best friends in the pro wrestling business.

Apart from them, Starks also has some connections with The Undertaker as he once revealed that he sparred with The Deadman to help the latter prepare for his match against John Cena at WrestleMania 34.

Starks Is Not The Only AEW Name Rumored To Jump Ships To WWE

Ricky Starks is not the only AEW star rumored to sign with WWE, as former AEW World Tag Team Champions Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix of The Lucha Brothers are also reportedly interested in jumping ships.

Apart from them, there are rumors that Saraya might be interested in returning to WWE if she doesn’t reach an agreement with AEW for a new contract.

With former AEW stars like Shawn Spears, Brian Pillman, and Ethan Page already in NXT, Ricky Starks would be a great fit in NXT under Shawn Michaels, and wrestling fans are already excited to witness Starks in a WWE ring.
