November 25, 2023, was the day almost every pro wrestling fan in the world had their prayers answered as CM Punk returned to WWE following his bitter exit from the company in 2014.

Despite his short run with All Elite Wrestling, deep down, every wrestling fan wanted The Voice of the Voiceless to return to WWE, and it came to fruition during the final moments of the 2023 Survivor Series event.

He competed in his first televised WWE match in a decade when he entered the 2024 Royal Rumble match at number 27. He ended up as the runner-up after getting eliminated by Cody Rhodes. But he sustained an injury during the match when he tore his right triceps, which took him out of action.

Despite being unable to compete at WrestleMania 40, he made his presence felt by being on commentary for the World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. He took out McIntyre after the latter won the title, which allowed Damian Priest to cash in his MITB contract to become the new champion.

Despite not being cleared to compete, Punk continued to make appearances for WWE and build up his rivalry with Drew McIntyre, and also cost him the opportunity to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash.

With rumors of a potential showdown with McIntyre at SummerSlam, CM Punk has provided an update on his recovery by posting a workout video on his Instagram story, which shows him putting more work on his right arm.

Apart from his primary rival, Drew McIntyre, Punk’s other rival, Seth Rollins, has also provided an update on his recovery after knee surgery, and wrestling fans could see the three of them coming to blows soon.

Besides looking to make an in-ring return, CM Punk also looks forward to giving back to the business by grooming future superstars at the WWE Performance Center. NXT Champion Trick Williams even lauded Punk as a blessing for NXT. Punk even claimed that his body could do so little to professional wrestling, but his brain could do much better, as it’s rumored that he’s looking to succeed Shawn Michaels in NXT in the future.
