After being on the sidelines for over nine months, Erik of The Viking Raiders tag team has provided an update on his recovery.

In October 2023, WWE announced Erik had sustained an injury and would be out of action for the foreseeable future. Erik followed it up by revealing that he underwent fusion surgery on his C6 and C7 cervical spine.

Following his injury, Erik’s tag team partner Ivar continued to perform as a singles performer and had quite a few memorable matches. However, it seems like Erik is poised to make a comeback as he posted a picture on X that shows him standing in the ring at the WWE Performance Center.

Erik’s last match took place on an episode of Superstars in September 2023, where he teamed up with Ivar to take on Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin.

Will The Viking Raiders Return To WWE Soon?

The Viking Raiders are former 1-time NXT and Raw Tag Team Champions and Erik has had one reign with the 24/7 Championship. With the tag team division in WWE starting to take shape in the wake of a new era, a reunited Viking Raiders could be the perfect addition to play the role of a powerhouse tag team on Raw.

However, that might take some time to come to fruition as Erik’s partner Ivar is also out of action due to an injury. He sustained a back injury in April 2024 and has been out of action ever since, with no word on how long he’ll be out of the ring.

It’s unclear if WWE will book Erik as a singles performer similar to how they booked Ivar these past few months, if he returns first. However, Erik’s wife and fellow WWE Superstar Valhalla, FKA, Sarah Logan, is also out of action after the couple announced they’re expecting their second child in April 2024.

With Ivar’s injury and Valhalla’s pregnancy, it appears WWE fans have to wait a bit longer to witness the reunion of The Viking Raiders.
