Current All Elite Wrestling star Matt Hardy was reportedly present during this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

According to Fightful Select, Matt Hardy’s AEW contract is set to expire this month and rumors say that the legendary tag team wrestler is not looking to renew his contract with the company. Hardy signed with AEW back in March 2020 and had a rather mixed run with the company.

Amid the rumors, Matt Hardy was reportedly spotted attending this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, which emanated live from the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina. It could be a hint that Hardy could be eyeing a return to WWE once he’s done with AEW.

To make things more interesting, Michael Cole name-dropped Matt and Jeff Hardy during the Raw broadcast, which added more fuel to the fire. Matt Hardy’s wife Reby Hardy also responded to Cole mentioning The Hardy Boyz on Raw with an Instagram post.

With two more spots left in the WrestleMania 40 Six-Pack Undisputed Tag Team Championship ladder match, fans are now wondering if WWE would recreate The Hardy Boyz’s surprise WrestleMania 33 return in this year’s event.

For that to come to fruition, AEW has to release Jeff Hardy from his contract, but that seems a bit too unlikely considering the company extended his contract following a recent injury.

The fans have to wait to find out if one or both of The Hardy Boyz will make their return to WWE at WrestleMania 40.
