The August 13, 2024, episode of NXT had lots of exhilarating action, including two title changes. Charley Dempsey defeated Tony D’Angelo to win the NXT Heritage Cup title, and Andre Chase & Ridge Holland defeated Axiom & Nathan Frazer to become the new NXT Tag Team Champions. Apart from that, General Manager Ava announced two title matches for NXT No Mercy 2024.

NXT General Manager Ava had a backstage segment with almost the entire NXT women’s division and announced a huge match for next week’s episode of NXT. She revealed that there would be a No Mercy Gauntlet eliminator match, with the winner receiving an NXT Women’s Championship match against Roxanne Perez at NXT No Mercy 2024.

Wren Sinclair, Adriana Rizzo, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker, Kendal Grey, and Karmen Petrovic were chosen as the six random contestants and would compete in the Gauntlet match next week to determine Roxanne Perez’s challenger at NXT No Mercy 2024.

The NXT Championship Match Was Also Made Official

This week’s episode of NXT also saw TNA’s Joe Hendry stepping up to NXT Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page and laying out a challenge for the title but ended up getting super kicked by Wes Lee. Later in the episode, Pete Dunne, who is feuding with Sheamus on the main roster, also stated his intention to challenge for the NXT Championship.

It led to another segment that saw Dunne confronting Wes Lee before Joe Hendry came out and attacked the latter. After all the fiasco, General Manager Ava made a triple threat match between Hendry, Lee, and Dunne for next week’s episode of NXT, with the winner getting the opportunity to face Ethan Page for the title at NXT No Mercy 2024.
