This week’s episode of WWE Raw will emanate live from the Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Following a red-hot SummerSlam fallout episode last week, WWE looks to add more value to their storylines going into the next big PLE, Bash in Berlin.

WWE has already announced four matches for the show, including a SummerSlam rematch between Bron Breakker and Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship. Also, Odyssey Jones will make an appearance after his incredible debut last week.

Wrestling fans will want answers regarding Seth Rollins’ injury and be interested in witnessing the next chapter in the rivalries between the current and former Judgment Day members and the feud between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. With that in mind, let’s look at the preview for this week’s episode of WWE Raw.

Rhea Ripley To Kick Things Off

WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce made several announcements on social media regarding this week’s episode, and one of them was former Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley would start the proceedings.

Ripley got a small ounce of retribution against Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan last week by taking out the latter, but she could look to do even more when she opens up the show this week.

We might witness an in-ring segment between Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and Dominik Mysterio, which could lead to Ripley getting another shot at Liv Morgan for the Women’s World Championship at Bash in Berlin.

Damian Priest Vs. Carlito

Damian Priest is on a warpath against his former Judgment Day brothers after Finn Balor cost him the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam. He got a chance to take his frustrations out on JD McDonagh last week but got blindsided by the remaining Judgment Day members before Rhea Ripley made the save.

Priest will battle Carlito on this week’s episode of WWE Raw but will be heavily outnumbered with Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio, and Liv Morgan lurking in the shadows, waiting for the right opportunity.

However, the former World Heavyweight Champion will not let that slow him down and would look to dismantle the Judgment Day one by one, but chances are he might be walking into another ambush.

Two Tag Team Matches

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship picture has been dry without a compelling storyline. Current Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn will find out the next challengers for their titles as Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane of Damage CTRL will take on Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler in a No.1 contender’s match on this week’s WWE Raw.

The Damage CTRL faction turned babyface after starting a rivalry with Shayna Baszler, Zoey Stark, and Sonya Deville. The two teams will look to assert their dominance over the other in the match, with a women’s tag team title opportunity being an added advantage.

Also, former teammates will do battle as Chad Gable will team up with The Creed Brothers to take on his former Alpha Academy partners Otis and Akira Tozawa.

Chad Gable revealed American Made as the name for his newfound partnership with The Creed Brothers. After losing their match against The Wyatt Sicks last week, it appears Chad Gable is officially off Uncle Howdy’s menu, and the latter would look to start his new journey by defeating his former teammates this Monday night on Raw.

Odyssey Jones’ Debut & The New Day’s Inevitable Implosion

After a lengthy delay, Odyssey Jones finally made his televised main roster debut on last week’s episode of WWE Raw by saving The New Day from a beatdown at the hands of The Final Testament.

Jones received a tremendous response from the WWE Universe as his debut garnered over 8 Million views across all of WWE’s social platforms. He showcased an incredible feat of strength by lifting both the Authors of Pain and slamming them on the mat.

Odyssey Jones posted a video on X that he would appear on this week’s WWE Raw. However, it’s unclear if he’ll compete in a match or be part of a segment.

Another thing to note from his debut is that it adds to the ongoing storyline between The New Day and Karrion Kross, which could lead to a potential breakup between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods. Woods’ expression during last week’s backstage segment adds more fire to the fans’ suspicions that a heel turn is inevitable for the 2021 King of the Ring.

The Wyatt Sicks’ Next Target

The Wyatt Sicks made their official in-ring debut on last week’s WWE Raw when Eric Rowan, Dexter Lumis, and Joe Gacy defeated Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers in the main event.

Judging by their storyline with Chad Gable over the past few weeks and their video packages, The Wyatt Sicks’ motive is to target those who have betrayed and forsaken their families.

According to that reasoning, the group might target superstars who have betrayed their teammates. WWE would look to hold off on Uncle Howdy’s in-ring debut for a PLE, but Nikki Cross could be the next in line to make her in-ring debut, and WWE has the option to put her in a storyline against Damage CTRL, who betrayed Bayley earlier this year.

Randy Orton To Make An Appearance

While there is some criticism over WWE choosing a SmackDown superstar to challenge Raw’s Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, there is a solid reason behind WWE booking this match.

WWE used the controversial ending to the King of the Ring final match to book Randy Orton as the first challenger to Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship for the Bash in Berlin PLE.

Randy Orton will make another appearance this week on Raw and will look to confront Gunther to advance their storyline heading into Bash in Berlin, and there are chances the fans might witness Gunther’s partner Ludwig Kaiser eating an RKO.

Sami Zayn Vs. Bron Breakker 2-out-of-3 Falls Match For The Intercontinental Championship

Sami Zayn’s inspiring 119-day Intercontinental Championship reign ended at the hands of Bron Breakker at SummerSlam 2024. The second-generation wrestler won his first major singles championship on the WWE main roster and proclaimed he’d hold on to it for a long time.

His first title defense will come against the former champion Sami Zayn on this week’s WWE Raw in a 2-out-of-3 falls match. Breakker is the favorite to come out with the win in this match as WWE will look to plant the seeds for Zayn and Jey Uso to reunite with Roman Reigns.

CM Punk & Drew McIntyre Continue Their Rivalry

Despite picking up the victory in their SummerSlam match, it looks like Drew McIntyre is not finished with CM Punk as he continues to play mind games with the latter by taunting him with the bracelet adorned with the names of Punk’s wife and dog.

Punk tried to chase after McIntyre on last week’s Raw, but General Manager Adam Pearce had already sent the latter out of the building. WWE has advertised CM Punk for all episodes of Raw in August, and we might see the two superstars continuing their rivalry, which could potentially lead to the rumored Hell in a Cell match.

Seth Rollins’ Injury & Repercussions For Bronson Reed

Seth Rollins walked out to the ring last week with the idea of fighting CM Punk, but Bron Reed came out of nowhere to lay out a vicious attack on the former World Heavyweight Champion.

Reed had already threatened General Manager Adam Pearce that he’d make a name for himself at any cost earlier in the show, and he lived up to his words by attacking Seth Rollins, decimating him with six Tsunami splashes.

Adam Pearce revealed that Seth Rollins had sustained several cracked ribs and internal bruising and would be out of action for an unspecified period. He also stated that he fined Reed a massive amount, which he later doubled after Reed called him a stooge on X.

According to veteran journalist Dave Meltzer, WWE played out the segment to write Rollins off due to a legitimate injury. Rollins had recently returned from a knee injury, and, unfortunately, he has to miss more action. Here’s hoping he has a quick recovery and returns when he’s fit to go.
